THE WHY

Everything we do starts with people. Let's better understand people, patterns, behaviors, attitudes and desires as they relate to life, money and taxes. Rather than wait for the need to arise to conduct research, let's build constant curiosity into our DNA both in and out of the office. The intent? Deeper empathy for the people we serve (and aspire to serve) in our day-to-day work.

Outside In

Outside In was a research initiative I created for the TurboTax Design team three years ago to keep a continuous pulse on what matters the most when it comes to product design: the people. 

THE WHAT

  • Pair up and schedule an offsite 90-minute In-Depth Interview with a participant over lunch or coffee

  • Learn about their family, work, motivations, hobbies, and perspective on finances

  • Use the provided template to share their story back to our Studio in our bi-weekly staff meetings
